A born and bred local, Corinne started work at the Port in 2003 as a Maintenance Clerk, assisting with data entry of maintenance orders, generating work orders, and record keeping, which was of course still paper based at the time.

Since then, she’s been witness to some major milestones, including the arrival of the Berth 2 container crane which changed the physical landscape at the port and most recently the digital transformation of our asset management system.

“Seeing that crane come off the ship was pretty spectacular,” said Corinne. “Something that large getting rolled off the ship was definitely something that kind of sticks with you.”

In 2012 she became Supply Lead, and Corinne still thrives on the diverse challenges her job presents, with responsibility for managing the Port's inventory. No two days are the same!

Reflecting on her journey, Corinne said, "positions at the Port are highly sought after in the community and I am grateful for the job and opportunities it has given me. I am fortunate to be able to live and work in my hometown surrounded by family and friends."

“Looking to the future, I’m excited about the rollout of our continued digital asset management system. It’s going to make a big difference in how we work and streamline our processes. It’s the next step in the right direction."

During winter when she’s not at work, you’ll find Corinne at the netball courts. Summer is for reading, beaching and spending time with family and friends.

Netball is in her blood – the competition, camaraderie, and everything that comes with being involved in a team. In 2021, she was recognised as a Life Member of the Esperance Netball Association and is still heavily involved on the committee, coaching and playing.

"Following my Life Membership, someone I coached 12 years prior came to congratulate me and said the reason they kept playing netball was because of me. I felt so chuffed that I was able to inspire her and know that we share a love for the sport. Coaching juniors is my main passion in netball."

“In July, we hosted the Great Southern Netball Championships for the first time, which was a long-awaited achievement for our association. It was a great weekend and was lovely to see our whole association work together to make it a success”.
