Advocacy
Southern Ports takes its role in advocating for its regions seriously and does this on a state, national and international level. Through our advocacy we have been able to raise the profile of regional Western Australian ports, their diversity and need for investment.
Putting our regions on the map
We’ve been highlighting the importance of our regions to the Western Australia economy through a diverse array of speaking opportunities and supporting regional leadership.

Highlighting regional ports
From our CEO’s involvement in Ports Australia as a Director to our determination to showcase the importance of regional ports in the nation’s diversification strategy, Southern Ports has been advocating for regional ports.

Seafarer welfare
More than 16,000 seafarers visit our ports each year and are often an invisible workforce. Southern Ports supports local seafarer welfare services as well as improving seafarer experience in our ports through a number of initiatives.

We are committed to the extinction of modern slavery across the globe and have taken an active role in making sure we assess all vendors and business activities that may be linked to modern slavery.
