Community Investment Program

Applications will be considered from the following:

• not for profit organisations or groups

• incorporated community associations

• educational institutions

• local government authorities 

• sporting clubs and associations

Applicants must hold an ABN or are under the auspice of an organisation.

You must be located or operating within the Great Southern, South West or Goldfields-Esperance region.

Applications will NOT be considered from:

• applicants whose projects, programs, events or activities conflict, or are perceived to conflict with Southern Ports organisational values.

• commercial businesses

• individuals / sole traders

Support will NOT be given for:

• individuals

• political activities

• religious activities

• private companies or commercial entities

• operating costs of an organisation

• project management, advertising and/or marketing costs

• donations or gratuities

• organisations that have not acquitted previous Southern Ports funding

• retrospective funding

Southern Ports does not:

• accept gratuitous favours as a result of this application

• provide donations

• accept gifts linked to a sponsored event or initiative

To apply for sponsorship, please use our grants portal. You will need to login and create an account before you can complete the application form and supply any supporting documentation that will help our committee assess your application. 

Once you have commenced an application through our portal, you can save and come back to it at any time. However, it must be submitted by the closing date. 

Please note, we no longer accept hard copy applications. If you have issues accessing the grants portal please refer to the online user guide or contact us.

Through our Community Investment Program we provide grants of up to $5,000.

All figures entered into the application are to exclude GST unless your organisation is not registered for GST in which case the full amount is to be included. 

If your organisation is registered for GST, Southern Ports will add GST to any approved amount. 

When you log in you will see three open funding rounds, one for each of our ports, please select the one that is most appropriate for your project or initiative.

For example, if your organisation is in Perth and you would like to apply for funding for a project or initiative happening in Esperance, please select FY26-27 Esperance – Round 1. 

Southern Ports will notify all applicants to acknowledge the application has been received. You will also be advised within 4 weeks of the closing date if you are successful.

If your application is successful, you will be sent a Sponsorship Agreement. The agreement will detail the funding provided and will also include a liability disclaimer that you will need to sign and return to Southern Ports along with a tax invoice for payment.

Please note, the funds you receive from Southern Ports must be used for the project outlined in the Sponsorship Agreement and are not transferable to another party. 

Any unspent funds are required to be returned to Southern Ports.

If your organisation has applied for or received funding from Southern Ports previously it will have an account in our system. 

If you applied for the funding, your email will be in our system. Simply enter your email address and click on “forgot password”. You will then receive an email with instructions on how to create your password so you can log-in to the grant portal. 

It is important that the email address you are using has been spelt correctly, and is the same one used previously for this organisation. 

If you haven’t applied for funding before or you are applying as a new organisation, please select ‘Register’ and follow the prompts. 

Yes, simply select ‘Register’ then the option ‘Register a new user for an organisation already registered’.

This will prompt you to complete the registration details and connect your profile to your organisation.

Yes, if you are involved with a few organisations, your user profile will show all the applications you have completed.

Please make sure you apply using the right organisation details.
