Southern Ports has partnered with Curtin University to deliver an annual regional scholarship to provide financial support for passionate individuals from the Great Southern, South West and Goldfields-Esperance regions who are looking to extend their education.
The Steve Lewis Regional Scholarship is named after Southern Ports' former Chief Executive Officer, Mr Steve Lewis, and will provide the following support to a current or future student for a maximum of four years (based on a full-time study load of 100 credits per semester):
- A total value of $112,000 paid as a cash stipend of $14,000 per semester. The amount may be used at the recipient's discretion for educational expenses.
- Guaranteed paid vacation work or mentoring with Southern Ports.
Key eligibility criteria:
- Current or future student (preference given to first year students).
- Undergraduate degrees in Faculty of Science & Engineering or Faculty of Business & Law.
- From the South West, Great Southern or Goldfields-Esperance regions of WA.
- Willing to relocate or has relocated to the campuses of Kalgoorlie or Bentley.
- Experiencing financial hardship.
- Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Humanitarian Visa holder.
