HSES Induction and Training Portal
Our Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) Induction and Training Portal includes a set of educational videos which share important information about your role in staying safe at work, keeping our ports secure and protecting the environment.
This induction, which requires an internet connection and approximately 50 minutes of your time, is required to be completed prior to undertaking any work across Southern Ports sites.
Following the induction, a series of specific training videos related to working on site will be required to be completed depending on your role and the work you’ll be undertaking.

Induction and training FAQs
If you are a new user, you will need to create your unique login account, otherwise login with your previous login details.
Once logged in, a series of educational videos will cover a range of topics – you will need sound to be able to hear the audio.
On the completion of each video, you will be asked a question about what you’ve just seen.
If you get it right, you’ll progress to the next module.
If you get it incorrect, the video will restart so you can try again.
If you will be completing any work on a Southern Ports site, yes you will need to complete the induction.
The induction covers important information to ensure you can keep yourself and others safe within our port settings, keep our ports secure and protect our unique environment.
You need to complete the induction prior to applying for your access card and prior to arriving onsite to undertake any work.
You need to refresh your HSES induction training every two years as our ways of working change and it’s important to be kept up-to-date.
Every person who is attending site to undertake work needs to complete the induction (i.e. if you have six people in your team coming to site to undertake maintenance works, then all six will need to complete the induction).
This induction is specific to how to work on Southern Ports sites and is different to the Maritime Awareness training completed through the MSIC process which covers the importance of keeping our ports secure.
If you have accessed the induction portal before and cannot remember your password you’ll need to reset through ‘Forgot my password’.
When you have finished the induction, please keep a copy of your completion certificate.
A confirmation email will also be sent to the Port(s) you nominated.
