World’s largest lithium bulk export ports

Our Port of Bunbury is the world’s largest lithium bulk export port, facilitating more than 1.8 million tonnes of spodumene each year.

Spodumene is an important lithium rich mineral that is processed to create lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles and renewable energy storage.

Our Port of Esperance also plays a key role in spodumene exports as the third largest lithium bulk export port in the world. 

Key enablers for energy infrastructure developments

Our ports, particularly our Port of Bunbury facilitates the import of breakbulk and project cargo with significant laydown capacity which enables the development of key renewable projects across Western Australia.

Over the past few years we have seen the import of onshore wind turbine components, large scale batteries and integral infrastructure and manufactured components to build onshore lithium processing plants come through our ports.
