Helen Cole commenced with BPA in February and with the retirement of Hugh Evans became the first female Harbour Master in Australia.
Bob Allsop in 1988 retired as the longest serving Harbour Master (25 years).
After 1899 Harbour Masters were appointed and employed by the Harbour and Light Department. From 1993 they were employed by the Port Authority.
The first woodchips from Berth 8 departed on 21st August aboard 'KEOYANG MAJESTY', loaded from HANSOL PI's facility.
