Bunbury

Port History

PORT HISTORY

Bunbury is the second-largest city in Western Australia and is an important industrial, tourism and commercial base outside of the state capital Perth.

Initially named 'Port Leschenault' by French explorer Captain Nicolas Thomas Baudin in 1803, the town-site was declared in 1836.

An Act of Parliament in 1909 established the Bunbury Harbour Board to control the port. More than half a century later in 1967, the name was changed to become the Bunbury Port Authority.

Community Consultations

CONSULTING WITH OUR COMMUNITY

Understanding the needs of our community is extremely important to us. This is why we have a Community Consultation Committee, which allows us to hear and respond to feedback about the Port of Bunbury, and how it impacts people living in the region.

The Community Consultation Committee is formed under section 14A of the Port Authorities Act 1999. It is made up of members of our community, who provide valuable advice to us, including information on long term strategic planning matters and day to day operations.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Vessels requiring a berth at the Port of Bunbury are required to complete an online Berth Application through the Southern Ports Shipping Portal, accessible HERE

This system allows Shipping Agents to add and amend details of proposed vessel visits to the Port.

Cargo manifest information is also submitted via email as normal for cargo worked.
