COVID-19 has been a challenging time for many, especially the vulnerable within our communities. Community care organisations have seen a spike in demand for their services, and Southern Ports is proud to be able to assist groups such as these to support our communities.

Young House is a crisis refuge for young people in Albany, and often find themselves at capacity. Southern Ports has partnered with Young House to purchase 28 Backpack Beds, a lightweight all weather protected bed that rolls up into a backpack. These beds provide homeless youth with the opportunity for a warm and dry place to sleep.

Southern Ports supported a number of community service agencies across the Albany, Bunbury and Esperance regions to assist them during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Visit the Albany Youth Support Association website for more information on how they're supporting youth in the Great Southern.
