Esperance tug licence awarded to Mackenzie Marine and Towage

Minister for Ports Hon David Michael MLA was at the Port of Esperance to announce that local business Mackenzie Marine and Towage has been awarded a 10-year licence to continue operating the tugs at the Port of Esperance.

The family-owned regional business employs 25 locals and has a proven record of providing capable crews and equipment to suit local operating conditions, having successfully provided tug services at the Port of Esperance since 1972.

Southern Ports Keith Wilks said that this is a brilliant outcome for local prosperity and ensuring safe and efficient marine operations.

“Mackenzie Marine and Towage has been working in the Port of Esperance for the past 50 years and I’m thrilled they’ll be with us for at least another decade.”
