The installation of important equipment storage at the much-loved Esperance Goldfields Surf Life Saving Club (EGSLSC) has been backed by Southern Ports in its latest round of community investment funding.
Southern Ports Regional Manager – Esperance Scott Bates said the Community Investment Program continued to be popular in the Goldfields-Esperance region and he’s proud to back local groups, projects and organisations that are making a positive difference in the regions.
“Giving back to the community is why the Community Investment Program exists, so supporting the Esperance Goldfields Surf Life Saving Club, which provides an important service to the community, is a win for everyone,” said Mr. Bates.
“The Surf Life Saving Club is made up of terrific volunteers which keep our community safe and help educate our community on how to be safe in and around the water.”
EGSLSC president Kelly Buttle said the growth of the club necessitated new infrastructure and illustrated how important the surf life saving club was to the community.
“Having dedicated racking for regularly used equipment is one of the final things we need in our new storage facility,” said Mrs. Buttle.
“This generous funding from Southern Ports will ensure we can properly equip all our members, young and not so young, so they are able to make the most of what our club has to offer.”
