New tug mooring for Port of Esperance

A new permanent tug mooring has been installed by Southern Ports around a kilometre offshore from the Esperance Bay Yacht Club to provide an additional mooring option for marine towage services at the Port of Esperance.
The mooring location is such that it will safeguard the tugs during inclement weather.
Environmental studies were completed to ensure the mooring location will not impact seagrasses or have any adverse impacts on the environment.
The new tug mooring will be operational from Friday 26 May and is not open for use by recreational vessels.
